He’s about eight months overdue on payment now. Forget chastising me for not sending invoices; sent they were. Returned unopened they were. And nowhere is there a current contact for him to be found.
However, the email still works. And I’ve made one last attempt to get him to pay up. I sent out the “Can you get in touch? I have a question about your book” email. It’s a longshot, but you never know. He may be dumb enough (or narcissistic enough) to write back or call. It’s then I can ask where the invoices should be sent.
I may have lost this payment, but I refuse to give up until I’ve exhausted either all my attempts at payment or all my energy used in finding him.

Shame on those who won’t pay us for our work! And kudos to you for continuing to try to get your money. Have you heard about Angela Hoy’s WritersWeekly.com website? Her Whispers and Warnings section reports on those jerks and she often takes an active role in helping writers to get paid. Sometimes the publicity alone is enough to make that happen. Right now she has a post up, “More Than One Way to Expose a Deadbeat,” that you might find helpful.
